Message from Susan Motika, Site Coordinator
I will be leaving Making Connections in September after three and a half years of very exciting and challenging work. Making Connections-Denver is nearing the end of the second phrase of our ten year initiative. We have helped institutionalize community organizing in Denver. We have also supported many innovations in early childhood education and family economic success – always with a focus on how residents can improve and change systems that affect their lives. Now Making Connections is moving to a new phase. With support from a local management entity, Making Connections will be able to deepen its impact on policy and systems change and build the case for sustaining what works. In the next few weeks, I will be working hard to help finalize Making Connections’ transition to a local management entity. I am eager to talk with you about MC-D’s transition and my own. Please call at 720-891-4913 or email me at smotika@mcdenver.org.

This important convening of evaluation teams from all ten Making Connections sites was a valuable learning opportunity as teams shared approaches to the 100 Family Study, wrestled with the challenge of evaluating this ten year initiative and looked at approaches to building community evaluation capacity.
